31,486 scientists skeptical of anthropogenic global warming
According to a recent petition, 31,486 US scientists dissent from the consensus on climate change.
That sounds like a lot. But is it?

Scientists don’t know much more than the rest of us when they are considering stuff outside their field of expertise, and most of the scientists who signed the petition refrerred to above may well be. The truth is that the vast majority of climate experts – and of other scientists too according to the the graph above – agree that global heating is happening and most think that it is human-induced, running parallel with CO2 emissions. Many think that, coupled with peak oil, a human-made disaster is on the horizon and we shouldn’t be pretending it’s not or that there is nothing we can do about it.
The thing is, even if climate change was not happening, so what? I mean, it is a good opportunity to get cleaner and to think about our environment anyway. We are in a win-win scenario (unless you happen to have based your fortune on products and processes that are potentially killing your fellow humans).
