“Deputy Pope” says paedophilia not linked to celibacy, but to homosexuality
It is homosexuality, not celibacy, that is linked to pedophilia, the Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone said on Monday, seeking to defuse the sex scandal that has battered the Roman Catholic Church.
On a visit to Chile, Bertone, dubbed the Deputy Pope, also said Pope Benedict would soon take more surprising initiatives regarding the sex abuse scandal but did not elaborate.
Cardinal Bertone used curiously non-committal language in describing the evidence for this bold claim.
“Many psychologists and psychiatrists have shown that there is no link between celibacy and pedophilia but many others have shown, I have recently been told, that there is a relationship between homosexuality and pedophilia,” he told a news conference in Santiago.
“This pathology is one that touches all categories of people, and priests to a lesser degree in percentage terms,” he said. “The behavior of the priests in this case, the negative behavior, is very serious, is scandalous.”

No Mr. Deputy Pope there is a very serious link between Catholicism and pedophilia. These priests are not molesting children because they are gay because not all the priests are molesting children of the same gender as the priests. These priests are molesting children, of both genders, because the priests are Catholic. That’s the real link so lets just be honest for once, shall we?
Oh and how conveniently forgotten is the fact that the vast majority of paedophiles are STRAIGHT.
I’m sick and tired of ‘gay’ being blamed for everything. Seriously. It’s about time the Catholic church started acknowledging the problems it has within it’s own doors and accepting responsibility/blame.
It might also be a good time to take stock of all the other problems around the world that they cause too. Might as well kill 650 birds with one stone.
And stop blaming everyone else for their problems. It makes us think even worse of the church than we already do.
So the priests that are abusing children are not celibate, they are practacing homosexuals? Seems a bit far fetched to me, but I’m willing to accept it if Cardinal Bertone can produce the evidence.
Whilst we have the Catholic Church blaming homosexuals for paedophilia within their midst, who are they blaming for the physical and mental cruelty experienced within their children’s homes over so many generations.Who get the blame in a religion that encourages an evermore over populated World with denying their followers exercising birth control, whilst countering this with lack of Aids prevention other than by abstinance,which is most unlikely to be practiced in male dominated areas of the very poorest parts of the World. And which religion failed to condemn the Natzi extermination of the Jews, either through fear of Natzi retaliation, or more likely their well known religious hate of the Jews. They have a lot to to answer for, so I suggest they start by getting on their knees and ask their God for forgivenous.But more usefully, start to adjust the errors of their ways.Preferably by changing their view of what is best for the World which I claim isn’t a religious one.
