Scientology is a cult that believes reincarnated souls ("thetans") on earth have extraterrestial pasts on other planets; according to ttheir beliefs, 75 million years ago Xenu, the tyrant ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy", brought billions of people to Earth in spacecraft resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and detonated hydrogen bombs in the volcanoes. The thetans then clustered together, stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to do this today.

Stupid or what?

John Dixon, let the name be trumpeted throughout the land as a politician who is not afraid to speak his own mind about a dangerous and stupid cult; bravo I say, bravo. :-D

He defends his position quite eloquently I think and has nothing to feel remiss about. Any other politician would no doubt have immediately retracted the statement in a cowardly display of political correctness.

I think he deserves immediate and sincere support for sticking to his guns on this one, no doubt the dangerous and stupid cult will be out to rattle him in the coming weeks and we need to show that he was well within his rights to express such opinions as a free individual, albeit employed as a public figure and representative.
